Minsk: Belarus has rubbished the reports suggesting it illegally sold weapons to terrorist groups in Pakistan, Xinhua reported Thursday.

According to Belarus foreign ministry spokesman Andrei Savinykh, newly published internet reports accusing Belarus of illegally selling weapons to terrorists in Pakistan are “complete disinformation.”

“Thus, it is another provocation of our ‘enemies’, which is not the first this year. And it’ll face the same unseemly fate,” Savinykh told local media.

Savinykh said the fulfillment of international obligations of Belarus “is well known to all governments, even those that are critical to our country.”

Anonymous hacker group released documents, under which a large-scale scheme of arms from Belarus to the Arab world leads to two Pakistan-based terrorist groups – Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

According to the report, Belarusian company Beltechexport supplies weapons to terrorists in Syria and Kurdistan, while payments are handled through Lebanon’s Fransabank, which has a subsidiary in Belarus, and Iran’s Tejarat bank. (IANS)
