A meeting of the FKJGP Byrnihat Circle and RBYF Byrnihat Circle, Rangbah Shnong, Seng Samla and Seng Longkmie of Byrnihat areas was held at Byrnihat Dorbar Shnong Community Hall on Thursday which decided to form the JAC to pursue their demands against the MeECL Byrnihat.

They elected Badap Khongpdah, RBYF Byrnihat President as chairman and members included Lumlang Mawnai, President FKJGP Byrnihat, D Suting Rangbah Shnong, Nongthymmai 15 Mer, S Lapang, Rangbah Shnong Nongkylla Khasi and Elizabeth Jyrwa, President Seng Longkmie Harlibagan among others.

The meeting decided to demand immediate payment of compensation to the affected family of the deceased, immediate removal of the erring staff on duty on the day of incident from Byrnihat area and also exemplary punishment against them for negligence of duties and also for altering the route of the live wire from the residence of Tinning Lamin.

Khongpdah told this scribe that they have issued an ultimatum to MeCEL for fulfilling their demands within ten days failing which, “We will be compelled to resort to agitation.”
