Newly elected Chakma MDCs sworn in

Aizawl: The newly elected members of the Chakma autonomous district council in Mizoram were sworn in at Kamala Nagar, the council’s administrative seat. The council court president and recorder, Dangu Lakkhi, administered the oath of office to the 20 elected MDCs, except for one who was absent, in a special ceremony attended by officials, politicians and media persons on Saturday. The Lal Thanhawla-led Congress won in the CADC elections capturing 17 of the 20 seats. (UNI)
