SHILLONG: Pro-ILP activists were in no mood to spare even an ambulance carrying a patient in the wake of the night road blockade called to protest the government’s indifference to their demand for implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP).

KSU volunteers on Thursday night pelted stones on an ambulance of Senga Samla Malki (ML05J5626) at 3rd Mile, Upper Shillong at around 10 pm. According to a member of Seng Samla, the ambulance was attacked when it was returning after fetching a patient from 3rd mile. The left wind shield of the ambulance was damaged in the incident.

Police immediately rushed to the spot and managed to arrest one Te Marshsi Nongrum (28), a resident of Umlyngka. In another incident, at around 10.30 pm, some miscreants tried to set ablaze two vehicles parked inside a community hall at Pynthorbah, but the local residents managed to douse the fire. No damage was done to the vehicles, police said.
