221 students honoured with M’laya IT Awards

SHILLONG: Altogether 221 meritorious students of the State, including three differently-able students, were presented with laptops in recognition of their achievements during the 7th Meghalaya IT Awards held at the Yojana Bhavan, Main Secretariat here on Thursday.
The awardees included toppers of the SSLC and HSSLC examinations of MBOSE, besides the CBSE, ICSE and ISC examinations.
Speaking in the occasion, IT Minister AL Hek congratulated the recipients and lauded the efforts of their parents for trying their best to educate their children so that they might attain high position in the society in future.
He called upon the students to accomplish their mission and vision. He further stated that education does not mean only academic knowledge but also is a means to becoming a good and God-fearing human being.
Other dignitaries who were present on the occasion included Chief Secretary WMS Pariat, Additional Chief Secretary BK Dev Verma, Principal Secretary in charge Education PK Srivastava, Commissioner and Secretary in charge IT department DP Wahlang, among others.
