SHILLONG: The post-mortem report of Balsan Marak, who died in judicial custody, has remained inconclusive, and hence the victim’s blood samples will be sent for toxicology analysis.
Toxicology will reveal the extent of damage in the body.
An official source on Friday said that the post-mortem report was sent to the West Garo Hills district administration and as per the report, blood samples should be examined further.
“The post-mortem report is not very clear to ascertain the cause of death and further examination is needed,” the official added.
However, the report mentioned about the injury in the elbow of the deceased, but for a complete report, toxicological analysis of blood samples is required, the official added.
Meanwhile, the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Pravin Bakshi has asked the additional district magistrate and CEO of Tura Municipal Board, ZJ Sangma not to be swayed by the sentiments following the death of the youth in judicial custody.
According to official sources, Tura police had sent a report to the district administration that Sangma, who is a relative of the deceased, had summoned the doctor who conducted the post-mortem and also a magistrate cautioning them not to be biased while they perform duty.
The police considered it as an act of interference on the part of Sangma and wanted the intervention of the Deputy Commissioner.
However, an official with the district administration said that Sangma acted in such a manner probably overcome by grief and also under pressure from the relatives of the deceased.
