Shillong: An MMS showing a girl from a local school in a compromising position is circulating in the city.
The MMS is allegedly being circulated by the girl’s boyfriend who filmed her in a very shameful situation. Those who have got a copy of the MMS say that the girl appears to have been drugged. She was filmed while dancing in a very provocative manner and wearing very little clothes.
Some women activists who have seen the MMS said they have brought it to the attention of the Police. They said they would approach the State Women’s Commission to seek its intervention in the matter and also to create awareness on the issue so that young women are more careful about the character of the person they move around with.
“Young women have become easy prey to men with ulterior motives who seek to shame or blackmail them by circulating their pictures around. This act falls in the area of cyber crime hence state police should nab the culprit soon so that others are deterred from committing similar crimes,” an activist speaking to The Shillong Times said.
