NGT ban on M’laya coal hits Rlys: Centre

GUWAHATI: Railways Minister Sadananda Gowda has said that Railways will lose nearly Rs 50 crore of revenue annually due to the NGT ban on coal mining in Meghalaya.

Gowda, who was on a day-long visit to Guwahati on Tuesday, said the Centre aims to complete 34 various ongoing projects of Indian Railways in the NE over the next 5-6 years that will entail an additional investment of around Rs 35,000 cr.

He said the inauguration of Dudhnoi-Mendipathar line would be done soon and he would request the Prime Minister to do so. (PTI)
