NONGPOH: The Ri Bhoi Students Union (RBSU), Central body on Friday expressed concern over the alleged adamant attitude of the state government, especially the PWD which has ‘abandoned’ the Umsning-Jagi road, Nongpoh-Umden-Sonapur road and Umling-20 Mile road which connects Meghalaya to Assam.

RBSU central body president, Everjoy Nongpluh, said that the PWD had abandoned these sub roads which were utilized in the past in case of traffic snarls along the National Highway 40.

The student body urged the government and the PWD to repair and widen these vital sub roads especially in the wake of the heavy traffic snarl that paralysed movement of vehicles following the landslide at Umling along NH-40 recently.
