Accidents across Meghalaya

A auto-rickshaw goods carrier (AS21C – 1622) proceeding towards Byrnihat from Jagiroad in Assam was hit by a dumper truck on reaching 13th Mile in Byrnihat under Umling Block, Ri Bhoi District on January 29 at 4:30 am. The driver of the auto-rickshaw Sujit Das (25, M) was shifted to Guwahati Medical College, Assam.
One truck (AS01DC – 1886) carrying cement drove off to the side of the road and overturned after it developed some technical snag. The truck was heading towards Shillong when the incident happened at Umkhen under Mawryngkneng Block, East Khasi Hills on January 28 at 11:05 pm. The truck driver Nimalbum Churai (26, M) was shifted to Mawryngkneng PHC.
In both these cases the 108 Emergency Service Ambulance helped in shifting the injured persons to the nearest medical centre.
