Strengthen Cong base in NE, Rahul tells Lapang

New Delhi: Congress Vice President, Rahul Gandhi while reiterating immediate need to strengthen the party in North East, has directed the North East Congress Coordination Committee (NECCC) to work for expansion of the party base in Northeastern region.
Gandhi issued this directive when NECCC chief DD Lapang called on him here on Saturday.
“Rahul also wants to have a high level meeting with the NECCC top functionaries shortly. I shall organise the meeting after I go back to Shillong on Monday,” Lapang said later.
The party president Sonia Gandhi during her meeting with Lapang  on Friday also stressed on strengthening the party.
