NONGSTOIN: HSPDP candidate Diosstarness Jyndiang on Sunday exuded confidence that he would win the November 21 by election to the Nongstoin Assembly seat.
Speaking to The Shillong Times on Sunday, he asserted that no party or candidate in the constituency posed any threat to him.
Admitting that he was unsure of the number of votes he would poll, Jyndiang, however, stated that he would require a maximum of 11,000 votes to win the election and step into the shoes of late Hoping Stone Lyngdoh from Nongstoin.
He maintained that the rural populace was hopeful that he would continue to follow the policy of late Hoping Stone who had successfully managed to gain the love and loyalty of the people of the constituency.
When asked about his closest opponent, Jyndiang stated that Gabriel Wahlang from Congress was one of the toughest opponents among all the candidates.
