Ex-MLA, 11 new faces on NPP’s first council poll list

JOWAI: The NPP on Friday released its first list of candidates for the JHADC election next year.
The list includes 12 sitting MDCs and 11 news faces.
Interestingly, former transport minister Robinus Syngkon, who was defeated in the last Assembly election, will contest from Raliang against sitting MDC Bison Iano.
The sitting members to contest from NPP are Het Pohthmi from War West, the CEM Madonbai Rymbai from Sohmynting Khkiehtyrshi, Chemhok Garod from Nangbah, former CEM Thombor Shiwat from Nartiang, Pheinshwa Nanglein from Myngsngat Khanduli, Rudaioo Tang from Shilliang Myntang, KM Lytan from Shangpung, Skhembok Suchiang from Thadmuthlong, Phasmoon Dkhar from Musniang Rangad, Violet Lyngdoh from Rymbai Khliehriat and Joinriwel Pyrtuh from Bataw Lakadong.
New faces are former JYF president Brightstar Chyrmang who will contest from Jowai North against sitting MDC Marki Mulieh.
Former Sutnga Narwan MDC Seiborlang Shadap was allotted ticket.
Teiborlang Hinge, a dynamic youth leader and businessman, will contest against former CEM Andrew Shullai from Jowai Central.
Transport minister’s brother Paia Dhar will contest against sitting MDC Hermon Phawa from Mukhla-Wahiajer.
Eveningstar Teron, a JHADC employee, will contest from Nongjngi against sitting MDC Suklang Shylla.
From Mowkaiaw constituency, Heirtami Suting will contest against Congress sitting MDC Einning Sungoh from Mowkaiaw.
Other NPP contestants are Saron Paswth from Jowai South against Monnlight Pariat, Habahun Dkhar from Saphai against UPD MDC Chanky Lyngdoh and former sectional assistant PWD Rolling Stone from Sumer.
Gilroy Tariang, brother of former minister RL Tariang, a reputed businessman will contest against Deputy CEM Lamdibok Sumer.
