New NGH traffic rules for Christmas, New Year

RESUBELPARA: The Circle Inspector (Traffic) North Garo Hills police has issued traffic rules keeping in mind the rush before Christmas and New Year. The decision was taken by locals, VDP leaders, Garo and Rabha Sordars, Mendipathar Development Council, stakeholders and the Mendipathar police on Tuesday.
The private light vehicles coming from Damra via Damas will be parked at Mingchengram Field. All passenger vehicles can pass through Mendipathar main market junction. The private light vehicles coming from Resubelpara Gajing via Soksan, Dilma will be parked at Mendipathar Government LP School.
All types of normal vehicles coming from Damra Damas can pass via main junction of Mendipathar Market. All private light vehicles coming from Tura Williamnagar will bypass Mendipathar main market and be diverted from Mendipathar Baptist Church which will come out near SBI branch complex.
“This necessary and urgent traffic rules are adopted keeping in mind the busy Christmas shopping days. This starts from December 21 to 25 and December 28 to 31 only,” said I Ch Marak, Circle Inspector (Traffic) NGH. The Mendipathar weekly market remained heavily crowded on Tuesday creating traffic congestion.
