Accident
On February 7 around 10:30 am, one three-wheeler (ML-05F-0627) driven by Phreslan Wanniang (25) collided with one motorcycle (ML-05H-3810) ridden by Tlison Marngar (38) at Mawlangkhar village in West Khasi Hills. Both the driver and motorist sustained injuries while another victim identified as Yearsing Nongspung (35) succumbed to his injuries after he was taken to PHC Markasa for treatment.
On February 3, one Tata Sumo (ML-07-7426) met with an accident at Siju Chaneng village in South Garo Hills. Five occupants sustained injuries and were taken to CH Tura.
On January 31, Sofiqul Haque fell off a moving three-wheeler (ML-08F-7835) at Ichaguri in South West Garo Hills and died on the spot.

Fraud
Michael Lyngdoh Mawlong of Mairang Mission in West Khasi Hills, lodged a complaint stating that between January 29 and February 5, 2019, he had applied for Amul distributorship through Google and transferred Rs 2,32,500 through mobile banking to an SBI account belonging to one person who claimed to be a dealer in Amul Company. The complainant later realized that he has been cheated.
Enjing C Marak lodged a complaint stating that on February 4, he had received an anonymous phone call in which the caller claimed to be an official from SBI and asked for his ATM details. After providing the details, the complainant learnt that Rs 87,794 had been debited from his account.

Drug bust
On February 9 around 4:15 am, police recovered several abandoned bags containing around 75.28 kgs of marijuana at Khlieh Iewduh.

Theft
Pascal Maria lodged a complaint that on February 9 around 3:30 am, unknown miscreants stole his motorcycle (ML-05R-7849) from his residence at Bakur village in West Jaintia Hills.
Anners Steven Lyngkhoi lodged a complaint stating that on February 8 around 9:45 pm, four unidentified persons robbed him of Rs 6,000 cash, one mobile phone and one ATM card after assaulting him in Lower Lachumiere.
Sen Kharbhih lodged a complaint stating that on February 8 around 9:30 am, unknown miscreants broke into his house at Lumshyiap Nongmensong, Shillong and ransacked the residence.
Mahesh Sunar lodged a complaint stating that on February 8 around 10:25 am, unknown persons entered the complainant’s shop (The Challam Mobile Store) in Motphran and stole four cell-phones.
Md. Lalchan Ali lodged a complaint stating that on February 5, three unidentified persons took him and his friend Rafikul Islam to a place in Rongjeng area in East Garo Hills on the pretext of showing them betel-nuts. However, on reaching the place the miscreants assaulted him and fled with his motorcycle (AS-01MA-4356), Rs 50,000 cash and one cell-phone.
Livadora K Lyngdoh lodged a complaint stating that on February 4 around 6:30 pm, unknown miscreants stole her laptop from her residence at Nongmensong Umkdait Block-1.
