SHILLONG: The MLA of Rambrai-Jyrngam, Kimfa Marbaniang has informed that the situation in Hahuapara village in West Khasi Hills is back to normal.
A tense situation had surfaced in the village after Assam police personnel picked up four persons on allegations that they had organised an inauguration programme at a disputed site on April 15.
When contacted, Marbaniang said that the situation is back to normal and security personnel have been deployed.
Police picked up Purno A Marak, Birlman Marak, Purtis Sangma and Albert Marak.
However, Purno A Marak is still in police custody following an old case pending against him while the rest were released.
He added that security personnel were already deployed in the area following the incident which occurred last February.
