Allegation
LN Marak, secretary of the Williamnagar Main Market Merchants’ Association, East Garo Hills lodged a complaint stating that on July 10 around 11:30 am, members of the Garo Students’ Union (GSU) summoned Sanu Alom to their office, where he was manhandled and asked to conduct a collection drive from all shops at the rate of Rs 1,000 within three hours.

Assault
Dominic Syngkly of Nongthymmai village, Ri Bhoi and others verbally reported that Mangara Khymdeit (PWD Muster Roll) who went missing since July 9, is suspected to have been abducted and brutally assaulted by unidentified persons on suspicion of practicing witchcraft. Later, he was taken to PHC Kyrdem where he succumbed to his injuries.
Sipra Rishi lodged a complaint stating that on July 7 around 11 am, Sonaton Rishi assaulted her neighbour Somendra at Rishipara in Tura, West Garo Hills. As a result, the victim sustained grievous injuries and was admitted at CH Tura. Later, the accused along with his younger brother Binoy Rishi went to the house of Nandan Das at Rishipara and assaulted him.

Drug overdose
Shruti Thapa lodged a complaint stating that on July 10 around 3pm, her son Arbin Bhusal (20) was reportedly taking drugs along with his friends identified as Gopal Saha, Sanjay Madok (23) and Malsawmkima P Lyngdoh (20) at Dumdum in Nongthymmai. As a result, her son fell sick and was admitted at CH Shillong and died soon after. The complainant also suspects foul play over her son’s death.

Fraud
Dulal Ch Das, proprietor of M/s DD Tent, Na’kam Bazar, Tura, West Garo Hills lodged a complaint stating that on July 4, one person hired one generator, one tarpaulin, two plastic tables and LED bulb in the name of SBI Araimile Branch, Tura. However, after two days the complainant learnt that the person cheated him after SBI Araimile Branch denied any knowledge about the matter.

Theft
Ashoke Kr. Paul, Chief Manager, SBI lodged a complaint stating that on July 8, unknown miscreants entered the ATM Kiosk at Thakuranbari in West Garo Hills and attempted to open the main vault of the ATM.
