Drug dealer on the run

SHILLONG: East Khasi Hills Police is on the lookout for an accused in a drug case, Imran Mynthlu, who is absconding since Friday.
On Friday morning, acting on inputs of Assam Rifles, an ANTF team caught Rahul Das with 119.48 gms of heroin while Mynthlu managed to give the slip.
Police are on the lookout for him and has solicited information from public regarding his whereabouts. A case —125(11)19 — has been registered against both the accused at Lumdengjri PS under section 21(b) of NDPS Act 1985.
It may be mentioned that on Thursday evening, Special Party of Sadar PS along with the ANTF of Superintendent of Police, EKH district received specific information that a dealer will be proceeding to supply drugs in Police Bazaar area and were able to nab Lobkush Bohara with 5.93 gms of heroin.
The accused is a close associate of another drug dealer, Haleem Miah, who was caught recently in Nongthymmai. A case — 279(11)19 — has been registered at Sadar PS under section 21(b) of NDPS Act 1985.
Due to large recoveries of drugs in recent past the dealers are also changing their strategy by bringing in not so big consignments. Moreover, in both the cases, the drugs were brought from Guwahati by the accused.
A police official said that there are many drug dealers who are still at large in Shillong.
