SHILLONG: While Shillong sees an alarming surge in COVID-19 cases, legislator SG Esmatur Mominin has asserted that Phulbari is free of the deadly disease with no positive cases reported of late.
Speaking to newsmen here on Tuesday, Phulbari MLA Mominin, while stating that three persons were quarantined in Chibinang after they tested positive for COVID-19, said that no new armed forces personnel has arrived in the region.
“Those personnel who are already here, have tested negative”, the MLA added. Reacting to a query about the vulnerability of the plain belt region, which shares a long interstate border with Assam, Mominin said that people there are cautious about COVID-19 and follow all protocols.
