Last Saturday evening, a city- based journalist dialed 197 (BSNL directory enquiry) to ask for the phone number of NEIGRIHMS, the premier institute of the State and the North east region, but instead of getting the number, the executive on the other end of the line at first took almost three minutes before replying that the phone number of NEIGRIHMS was not mentioned in their records.
Incidentally, he was keen on providing the phone number of another hospital, Nazareth.
The service executive was even finding it difficult to understand and pronounce the correct names of the hospitals and when the scribe asked the executive where he belonged to, the gentleman politely replied that he was answering from Agartala, Tripura.
This incident clearly indicates the fact that BSNL has appointed executive who find it tough even to understand the name of the biggest medical institute of the region – the NEIGRIHMS.
