TURA: Opposing appointment of one Biplop Brahma to the post of Hindi teacher in Boldamgre Government U P School, the West Zone unit of the Garo Students’ Union has written to the State Chief Secretary seeking his intervention.
The GSU alleged that the appointed candidate had not attended the interview for the said post conducted Headmaster of the school in the presence of the District Education Officer and the School managing committee on June 14 2011. The attendance record showed only seven candidates had appeared in the interview on that day while the name of Biplop Brahma was nowhere to be found, the GSU said.
The union maintained that Brahma was appointed by violating the norms and procedure of selection and appointment under the Amended aided High and Higher Secondary School Employees Rules, 1965, applicable in the state of Meghalaya.
The GSU also alleged that the documents submitted by Biplop Brahma were fake alleging that he had not submitted the graduation certificate which would have proved he had passed out from Arya Vidyapeeth College of Guwahati.
