Inter-school cricket begins today

SHILLONG: The 6th Ondromoni Dkhar Memorial (Under-19) and 9th IP Das Memorial (Under-16) Inter School Cricket Tournament will take off from Thursday at the Cricket Ground, Polo.
The tournament will run until May 6, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association and the District Sports Office, East Khasi Hills.
Eight schools will take part in the U-19 competition, with 14 schools in the U-16 category. Matches will be held 25 overs to a side.
Thursday will see two U-16 matches. The inaugural game will be between defending champions St Anthony’s HS School and Shillong Secondary School at 8:00am.
St Xavier’s Secondary School will then take on Laitumkhrah Bengalee School in the second fixture at 10:00am.

U-16 teams:

Group A – St Anthony’s HS School, Shillong Secondary School, Gandhi Buniadi, Ruprekha Parishad School
Group B – Laban Bengalee Boys School, St Xavier’s Secondary School, Laitumkhrah Bengalee School
Group C – St Edmund’s School, St Nanak Secondary School, Queenie Secondary School
Group D – Jail Road Boys HS School, Arya Kanya Secondary, BK Bajoria HS, All Saints

U-19 teams:

Group A – Laban Bengalee Boys HS School, Jail Road Boys HS School, Buddha Bidya Neeketan, Garo Union Secondary
Group B – St Edmund’s HS School, St Anthony’s HS School, Shillong Secondary School, Ruprekha Parishad Secondary School
