TURA: Former militants of the ANVC and the ANVC-B under the banner of the A’chik Matgrik Society (AMS) have sought the dissolution of the current Executive Committee of the GHADC and requested that their leaders be given a chance to manage the extended term of the Council.
“This is more viable as our leaders know exactly what they had demanded and signed. In order for the vision of our leaders to materialize the present term of the Council should be handed over to the leaders of the signing organizations,” they said.
Pointing out that the extension was made for the proposed amendment of the signed agreement the former militants alleged that the State Government was trying to oppose and manipulate the proposed agreement which was aimed at empowering the traditional institutions for development and local administration.
Appealing that the extended period is handed over to its leaders they urged the Chief Minister to include them in all discussions and meetings on the proposed amendment of the Sixth Schedule as agreed in the text settlement so as to prevent any foul play against the signed agreement.
