N’land Guv says ballot only way to bring change in society

Kohima: Governor of Nagaland, Assam and Tripura P B Acharya has said that if people wanted to see desirable positive changes in the society, then the answer lay in the ballot and not politics.
Addressing as the Chief Guest of an occasion at Kiyelho village under Dimapur district on Saturday, Mr Acharya said “Politics is not the answer, ballot is the answer. Change the people who are doing wrong things.”
The Governor, who is vested with a significant role to play in the ongoing political impasse in the state, pointed out that the fiscal deficit, political turmoil, corruption, proxy teachers, deficiency in the education system and so on were all creation of the people itself.
“Electing the right person will give you the benefits but electing wrong person will get you results accor-dingly,” he said and urged the people especially the student community to shoulder on the responsi-bility of bringing changes to the society.
The Governor also received applaud from the gathering when he expanded the Hindi word ‘Namaste’ into North East (NE) for the starting and ending letters of that word, N- Nagaland, A- Arunachal Pradesh, M-Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, A- Assam, S- Sikkim and T- Tripura. He said the Central Government was also determined to bring back black money amounting to thousands of crores of rupees stashed in foreign banks. (UNI)
