JCB driver run over

SHILLONG: A driver of a JCB (AS-01-DD-5079) identified as Samin Ansari was crushed to death under the wheels of the JCB after a brake failure at Chillipara in South West Garo Hills on November 4.
According to police, the driver and his helper Rakam Paul Singh jumped off the moving JCB when it developed brake failure but the driver was run over while the helper sustained injuries.

Seminar
Synod College will hold a national seminar on “Women and Religion in India: Status and Quest for Liberation” from November 13-14 at 10 am at the conference hall of the college. Prof.P.Shukla, former Vice Chancellor, NEHU, will be the Chief Guest.  The college will be holding a “Food and Fun” Festival on November 17 and a musical evening on November 19.
