SHILLONG: The district administration and the Police department of South West Khasi Hills conducted an awareness programme at Ranikor BDO office on Tuesday as part of a confidence building exercise.
South West Khasi Hills SP Herbert Lyngdoh said the meeting dwelt on militancy and the possibility of militant groups taking refuge in border villages. The meeting was attended by almost all the headmen from Balat to Maheshkhola, who expressed solidarity with the police and extended their cooperation to the Police department.
