SHILLONG: At a time when suspended NPP MDC Boston Marak, who is aspiring for the post of GHADC CEM, is hopeful of forming the next Executive Committee, NPP has decided to wait and watch.
The cabinet on June 15 had recommended withdrawal of administrator’s rule in GHADC.
Later, Boston had claimed the support of 15 MDCs to form the next EC.
However, NPP national president Conrad Sangma said it was up to the governor whether to accept the recommendation of the Cabinet or not. “We are waiting and watching. We even heard that there are differences within the group led by Boston,” he said. The government expects that the governor will notify the election of the new CEM this week.
Earlier on March 31, the Executive Committee led by NPP leader Denang Sangma collapsed after he resigned even before facing a no-confidence motion brought against him by the Opposition.
