SHILLONG: A handy man of a truck was allegedly murdered while his companion was assaulted by a group of miscreants in East Jaintia Hills.
Bimal Adhikari, driver of truck (AS-01AC-7581) lodged a complaint that on June 21, he along with his handyman, Kashi Reang, stopped at Umstad, NH-44 for preparing meal. However, seven unidentified persons in a DI pick-up came to them and asked for a cooking stove.
Later, three of them assaulted and strangulated Bimal till he was unconscious and when he regained consciousness, he found himself in a jungle with hands and legs tied with a rope. During search, Police recovered the body of the handyman from a nearby jungle.
