JOWAI: Deputy Chief Minister and Jowai legislator RC Laloo will not contest the upcoming Assembly elections.
Sources informed on Tuesday that instead, Laloo is backing JHADC chief Awhoi Andrew Shullai to contest the seat.
According to sources, several meetings were held in different parts of Jowai town including Ladthadlaboh where Laloo had discussed about the candidature of Shullai from the Congress.
However, the West Jaintia Hills District Congress Committee president Lahkmen Rymbui and Shullai were not available for comments.
