SHILLONG: The State Election department has roped in famous Bollywood singer Usha Uthup to motivate young voters to go and vote on the day of elections.
The department has made a three-minute-long video where Usha Uthup is seen singing a Khasi song “Khasi Baiar’ where she says that she is the friend of Meghalaya and she is urging the voters to vote ethically and responsibly.
Meanwhile, CEO FR Kharkongor said that said that the department has taken a series of programmes to encourage voters to come on the day of polling and exercise their right to franchise
He also said that youths are major segment and the department will focus on youths using music.
