SHILLONG: BJP MLA and Health and Family Welfare Minister, AL Hek  has asserted that his party which is supporting the  NPP led Government in the state, will remove the fears of people and some political parties  through the development in the state.

When asked about the HSPDP’s strong opposition to inclusion of the  BJP in the Government, Hek who won the elections on a BJP ticket said that the party would clear all fears about BJP being communal and anti-minorities through   its developmental work for the state.

Stating that the Opposition of HSPDP to  BJP’s inclusion  in the Government was their personal matter, Hek said that two HSPDP MLAs   who joined  Government were very positive and working with the Government to serve the people  of the state.

“ May be some people and political parties think that BJP is against Christian and minorities but I am assuring that  we will work for development and our work will remove all such fears,” he told reporters.

According to Hek, like Meghalaya, there are many  Christian MLAs and political parties in states like Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur and even Assam who are working with BJP for the development of the region.

“Why there is so much fear only in Meghalaya and if this is the case, how  will we move forward,” Hek said.

HSPDP president, Ardent Basaiawmoit who recently resigned from the post of HSPDP president has expressed his stiff opposition to inclusion of the  BJP in the Government and he  had even asked the two party MLAs to desist from supporting  the Government but two MLAs did not respond positively  to the directive.
