TURA: The General Observer for the Ampati by-election, Hans Raj Chauhan, had an interaction with the sector officials, police officers and others teams at Ampati on Tuesday.
Expenditure Observer Sanket Deshmukh, District Election Officer H.D.B. Sangma, Returning Officer D.D Shira and Superintendent of Police B.S.W. Momin were among those who participated in the discussions on the state of preparedness for the upcoming by-poll.
”We are all here working on behalf of the ECI to take forward the election process smoothly without hassles”, Chauhan said, adding that the role of each team was crucial and called for advance planning, proactive approach and continued activity to ensure free and fair election.
He urged the accounting, flying squad, static surveillance and video surveillance teams to keep a close watch to check violations of the model code of conduct and prevent all kinds of malpractices.
He also asked the teams to keep a close watch on liquor stores and check their stock positions.
The general observer asked the sector officers to work in proper coordination with the police officials and give reports on the condition of roads, security and connectivity.
In his response, the district election officer said all minor repairs in the polling stations like broken window panes, leaking roofs and bad approach roads were being taken care of.
The meeting also took note of the security deployment and communication plan for the polling stations according to their vulnerability like group clashes, elephant infestation and remoteness.
