NIA court convicts NDFB militants in Assam massacre case

GUWAHATI: A special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court on Wednesday convicted four National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militants in a December 23, 2014 massacre case in Assam.
The convicted militants are: Sanju Bordoloi alias Sibigiri, Bishnu Narzary alias N Berema, Ahoy Basumutary alias B Bujumbura and Nitul Daimary alias D Naihab. The exact quantum of punishment for the convicts will be pronounced on September 7, an NIA release said here.
The judgement was delivered in a case registered by the NIA on the killing of six persons and injury of two others in indiscriminate firing resorted to by the convicted militants in Santipur village, Assam.
