NONGPOH: The second edition of AHOR off-road challenge this year is all set for a thrilling competition as the preparation for different kind of off-roading tracks has been completed. The three-day, one of its kind event, will be held at Kharsati Park in Ri Bhoi District, the same venue which holds the first edition from September 6 to 8.
AHOR means muddy in Khasi, stands for Adventurous Hynniewtrep Off-Roaders. The group was formed early last year by a group of like-minded people from Shillong who shares the same passion of off-roading.
This year, the event will comprise of five different track challenges where enthusiastic off-roaders with their vehicles from all over North East are expected to participate in the event.
AHOR, general secretary, Demetrius Onel S. Kharkrang while speaking to The Shillong Times, said that the event was organised solely to promote the young talents in the field of motorsports competition in this part of the country.
“We have successfully organised the first edition of AHOR Off-Road Challenge in the year 2017, where more than 20 off-road vehicles took part. I am also proud to inform you that our team had also won two prestigious trophies in the Club Mahindra Challenge 2017, held at Kochi, Kerala and also winning the Maestro Off-Road Challenge held at Nagaland in the same year.” Kharkrang said.
