NEHU Inter College Basketball semi-finals played
SHILLONG: In the semifinals of the NEHU Inter College Basketball Tournament 2018 played on Wednesday, St. Anthony’s College defeated Lady Keane College 53-30 while Shillong College defeated St. Mary’s College 31-04 in the women’s category. In the men’s category, St. Anthony’s College defeated Shillong College 75-56 while K.L. Bajoria College defeated NEHU Shillong 58-23. The finals will be played on September 27.

Entertaining battles on second day of Futsal tourney
SHILLONG: The second day of the 2nd Open Futsal Tournament, organised by the Futsal Association of Meghalaya at the Laban SC Indoor Stadium, saw another round of entertaining matches on Wednesday as teams looked to make a strong challenge for qualification to the knockout rounds. Eighteen games were held in all – four in the women’s division and fourteen in the men’s. Board President XI saw double success on Wednesday, with their women’s team beating KT Football Club 5-0, which was followed by the men’s side winning 2-1 over The Knight from Mawpat. One of the most interesting games was between Pioneers FC and Touchline B. One of the members of the Touchline team was none other than I-League and Indian Super League player Samuel Shadap. Touchline B twice pulled out a one-goal lead, but Pioneers fought back on both occasions and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Bodybuilders to represent India at Asia and World C’ships
SHILLONG: Balap Phrang Kharshiing and Jessica C Bamon from the state have been selected to represent India in the 52nd Asia Body Building and Best Physique Sports Championship and 10th World Body Building and Best Physique Sports Championship. Asia Championship to be held on October 2 to 8, 2018 at Pune, India and World Championship to be held on December 11 to 17, 2018 at Chang Mai, Thailand.
State Bridge Championship on September 29
SHILLONG: Meghalaya Bridge Association, Shillong is going to organise the 46th Meghalaya State Bridge (Card) Championship on September 29 to 30, 2018, in the club room of Zenith Jubilieth, Laban, Shillong. The game will begin with Team of Four Duplicate event at 9.30 am, on September 29, followed by the Open Pair event.
