Two dead, several injured in accidents across state

SHILLONG: Two persons died while many were injured in a spate of road accidents which took place across the state in the last few days.
Three persons sustained injuries after a collision involving a Maruti van and a local taxi took place in Mylliem on Thursday morning. The victims identified as Baiainehskhem Kharkongngor (29), Jenerous Kharlukhi (28) and Bari Sun (24) were taken to Pomlum PHC by a Shillong-based 108 ambulance.
In another incident, Pyllun Shadap (40) sustained injuries after his vehicle capsized at 12th Mile. He was taken to Nongpoh Civil Hospital by a Byrnihat-based 108 ambulance.
On Thursday morning around 3:30 am, one Auto Rickshaw (ML-10B-6987) dashed against a parked truck at 12th Mile in Ri Bhoi. One occupant of the auto rickshaw identified as Ki Syiem died on the spot while two other victims sustained injuries and were taken to Byrnihat PHC.
On Monday around 9:30 am, one motorcycle (ML-07B-6861) ridden by Sujit G Momin fatally knocked down Simtak N Marak at Songsak in East Garo Hills.
On Wednesday around 1:30 pm, an accident took place between one Bolero pick-up (ML-04C-6516) and one dumper truck (ML-11-2824) at Umsning By-Pass Road. Four of the victims sustained injuries and were taken to CHC Umsning.
On Tuesday around 6:30 pm, an accident took place in the city when one scooty (ML-05R-1980) ridden by a seventeen year old boy along with two pillion riders knocked down a Traffic personnel at Rynjah Bazar.
The traffic personnel sustained injuries and was admitted at Woodland Hospital.
