SHILLONG: The Centre of Learning, Knowledge & Services (COLKS) launched two farmers’ products, BEE Natural and MADessentials, on Tuesday.
COLKS, which is planning expansion, was formed by a group of like-minded professionals from various fields who came together to help in driving rural empowerment, sustainable livelihood and gainful employment primarily for farmers and the rural youths.
Co-founder Eunice Patton (innovative strategies) said COLKS’s honey brand known as BEE Natural, was started in 2016 and highlighted on other products such as soaps and lip balm.
Informing that the QR code in the packaging provides farmer traceability and regional identity, Patton said the packaging is of handmade recycled paper sourced from Guwahati.
Brand manager Peter Wallang said COLKS aims to promote local farmers’ produce. “We plan to expand to Assam and Nagaland,” he added.
