SHILLONG: The BSF arrested 33 Indian smugglers during the current year besides seizing explosives. In a statement issued on Saturday on the occasion of its 54th Raising Day, the BSF said one Bangladesh Tiger Force member and a GNLA cadre surrendered before the BSF.
Six country made guns, grenades, 29 rounds of live and huge quantity of explosives were also seized on the border. Apart from this, 6294 cattle and contraband items worth Rs.21.4 crore were also seized.
Rajnikant Mishra, DG BSF and L Mohanti, IG BSF Meghalaya Frontier conveyed their wishes to all ranks of BSF on this occasion.
