Focus on modern methods in livestock farming

Shillong: PHE Minister and Sohiong MLA Samlin Malngiang has said backyard livestock method is comparatively low in production in the state and urged farmers to adopt modern methods of farming as introduced by the veterinary department which can easily boost production with improved breed of livestock.
Addressing a gathering at a one-day block level livestock mela organised by the office of the East Khasi Hills District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Officer at Sohiong on Saturday, Malngiang emphasised the ready availability of market for livestock products as the state depends largely on other states for supply of raw meat and poultry products.
