SHILLONG: The Federation of Khasi-Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP), while reacting to the suo motu case by Meghalaya Police for holding agitations, said on Monday the pressure groups did not disrupt peace while saying that the state did not impose Section 144.
The organisation said Khyndailad is a public place and as residents of the state, the pressure groups have the right to agitate.
The Federation of Khasi-Jaintia and Garo People said other organisations which held agitations did not violate the law and did not disrupt peace and harmony. It added that it will intensify protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.
