Raj Bhavan to be opened 
In connection with the Republic Day, 2019, Raj Bhavan, Shillong will be kept open for the general public on January 25 and 26 from 4:30 pm to 7 pm.

National Voters Day
The District Administration of West Jaintia Hills will celebrate National Voters Day on January 25 in the Conference Room, DCs Office Jowai at 11.00 am. The DC will felicitate the newly enrolled Voters and volunteers from Bharat Scouts and Guides. The Office of the Deputy Commissioner will also organise ‘Run for Democracy’. The starting and ending point of the run will be from Thadlaskein circle (Lake).

Dry day
The District Magistrate of West Jaintia Hills and the South West Khasi Hills administration have declared as dry day on January 26 in the entire District on account of Republic Day. All IMFL licensed premises, bars, canteen, country Spirit shops including out still should remain closed on the above mentioned dates.

Blood camp
The 3rd  Voluntary Blood Donation Camp will be organised by Meghdoot Club  Lumparing Shillong on January 26 on the occasion of Republic Day. It will be held at Lumparing community hall from 10 am.

Strike
The Co- ordination Committee of Central Govt Employees & Workers,  Meghalaya extends it’s support to the Civilian Defence Employees Union  of Meghalaya who are in  a three-day strike to be commenced from January 23 to 25 for immediate settlement of their charter of demands which is in response to the call of Central Head Quarters of All India Defence Employees Federation.
