Dead bee samples sent to ICAR

SHILLONG: The samples of the dead bees collected from Mawthadraishan area in West Khasi Hills District were sent to Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Umiam on Friday.
An official from the Horticulture department informed that the samples were not sent on Thursday as it was a national holiday.
Officials of the department had visited the areas, where the mysterious death of honey bees was reported, on Wednesday to collect samples.
Besides samples of dead bees, the officials also collected samples of the honey comb which had dried up following the incident.
