Ecstasy pills seized
Chennai: Ecstasy pills from the United Kingdom and Netherlands were seized by customs authorities at the Foreign Post Office here, officials said on Wednesday.
Officials seized the first consignment from Netherton, United Kingdom, consigned to a person in Ooty.
Besides, they also recovered pills that were concealed in a plastic pouch and addressed to an individual in Namakkal, Tamil Nadu. (PTI)
Army officer killed on LoC
Jammu: A junior commissioned army officer (JCO) was killed on Wednesday in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
The JCO deployed on a forward post in Tarkundi sector was injured in Pakistan firing and later succumbed, police sources said. Pakistan has been violating ceasefire on the LoC with impunity since the beginning of 2020. (IANS)
Cabinet approves Mission Karmayogi
New Delhi: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved Mission Karmayogi’, dubbed as the biggest bureaucratic reform initiative, aimed at capacity building to make government employees more “creative, proactive, professional and technology-enabled”, ending the culture of working in silos and ensuring transparency.The programme will “radically” improve the government’s human resource management practices and prepare civil servants for the future, Prime Minister Modi said.
