Theft bid
AN Sheikh of 30 Bn BSF, Umpling, Shillong, lodged a complaint that on September 21 around 11.30 am, three civilians trespassed into BSF Campus, Umpling, with intention to commit theft from newly constructed family quarters inside the campus. One of the culprits namely, Pynskhem Lyngdoh (23) was apprehended by the sentry on duty, while two other accomplices managed to escape.

Fake news
Ayushi Puri of Doordarshan Kendra Quarter, Laitkor, Shillong, lodged a complaint that on September 20, unknown miscreant(s) circulated fake news on social media using the logo of DD News Shillong.

Accident
On September 20, one Mahindra Bolero pick-up (AS-01-LC-9351) driven by Abdul Samad Ali of Mamudpur Pt-1 village under Matia PS, Goalpara District, Assam along with two occupants namely, Md Mobarok Hussain and Aynuddin Ali, while transporting nine cattle, dashed against the side wall of NH-62 at Siju Forest Reserve under Siju PS (SGH). As a result, one occupant of the pick-up sustained injuries while four cattle died on the spot. Later, it was learnt that the cattle were being transported from Dudhnoi Dolguma in Assam to Baghmara (SGH) in the name of one Rex M Marak of Jongkol, Baghmara (SGH), without valid documents.
