1st Division Shillong Cricket League: Sunrise CC beat Malki CC

SHILLONG, March 2: Sunrise CC defeated Malki CC by 5 wickets in a 1st Division Shillong Cricket League match here at the NEPA grounds on Tuesday. Sunrise won the toss and elected to field first. Malki scored 190 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 30 overs. Akashdeep (81 runs off 92 balls) and Vishal Balmiki (29 runs off 39 balls) were the top scorers for Malki. Robin Singh and Sanjeev Chettri returned with identical figures of 3/29 for Sunrise. In reply, Sunrise chased the target and scored 191 for the loss of 7 wickets in 24 overs. Krishna Chettri top scored for Sunrise scoring 117 runs off 72 balls. Sulo (22 runs off 20 balls) was the next hightest scorer for Sunrise. For Malki, Rahul Shah scalped 2 wickets giving away 42 runs in 6 overs, while PM Santosh took 1 wicket giving away 30 runs in his 5 overs. Krishna of Sunrise was adjudged the Man of the Match for his magnificent batting performance.
