SHILLONG, Jan 17: To celebrate Meghalaya Day on 21st January, 2023, the Directorate of Sports and YouthAffairs will be conducting the “Meghalaya Day 5K and 10K Run” on the 21st January, 2023 startingfrom J.N Stadium Main Gate at 7.00 A.M.Route for 5K Run: – (Starting Point) J.N Stadium Main Gate, Polo, Shillong – S.R.G.T MainGate – Golf Club – Mawroh – F.C.I – MeECL – Forest Colony – Polo Bazar – S.R.G.T Main Gate –(Finishing Point) J.N Stadium Main Gate, Polo Shillong.Route for 10K Run: – (Starting Point) J.N Stadium Main Gate, Polo, Shillong – S.R.G.TMain Gate – Polo Bazar – 4 th Furlong – Demseiniong – Nongmynsong – Pynthorumkhrah- LadShyiap – Golf Link – Mawroh – F.C.I – MeECL – Forest Colony – Polo Bazar – S.R.G.T Main Gate– (Finishing Point) J.N Stadium Main Gate, Polo, Shillong.The run will be conducted in open category for both men and women in the 10K Run, however,only for 5K Run only citizens of the state will be permitted. Prize money will be awarded to the winners along with trophies and certificates. The starting and finish point will be J.N Stadium Main Gate, Polo Ground Shillong, Meghalaya.Starting Time –7.00 AM; Date –21st January, 2023 10K Open Category Above 18yrs Male and Female; Prize Money – 1st – ₹ 8000/-, 2nd – ₹ 5000/-, 3rd – ₹ 3000/-Consolation Cash Prize of ₹ 1000/- For 4th To th Place; Cash Prize For Veteran Top Five Finisher +50Yrs of ₹ 1000/-5K Meghalayan only Under 18yrs Male and Female;Prize Money – 1st – ₹ 3000/-, 2nd – ₹ 2000/-, 3rd – ₹ 1000/-;Consolation Cash Prize of ₹ 500/- For 4th To 8th Place. Offline registration is also available at the office of the District Sports Officer, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong located at J.N Sports Complex Polo, Shillong from the 17th till the 20th January, 2023 during office hours.Chest number will be distributed on the 20th January, 2023 from 10am to 4pm at the office of the District Sports Officer, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong.
