CRPF plantation drive sees active participation

TURA, Aug 14: As part of the ‘MeriMaati..MeraDesh’ campaign, the 120 Bn CRPF Tura on Monday launched a massive plantation drive with active participation of ‘Green warriors’ comprising CRPF personnel and their families, teachers and students of Government LP School, Ballonggre village, Tura, along with other green activists and the local people.
Pramod Kumar Singh, Commandant 120 Bn CRPF started the drive by planting a Mango tree sapling and motivated the green warriors with his address.
The occasion witnessed plantation of saplings of fruit bearing trees of environment significance like mango, Jammun, Neem, organge etc. A PanchPran Pledge to make India developed and self-reliant by 2047 by performing duties as responsible citizen, was also taken following the plantation drive. An awareness drive was also conducted.
Earlier on Sunday, the CRPF Tura also organized a massive motorbike rally as part of ‘HarGharTiranga’ campaign to encourage the people of Garo Hills to observe ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
