Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal nearing Rs 500 crore-mark
Action drama film Animal has earned Rs 481 crore gross at the worldwide box office within five days of the release, the makers said on Wednesday. Fronted by Ranbir Kapoor and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film released on December 1 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Production house T-Series shared the collection update of “Animal” on X. “He is the Box Office #Animal #AnimalHuntBegins,” the banner captioned the post which read that the film had smashed “box office records 5-day worldwide gross” by earning Rs 481 crore. While it is running successfully in theatres, a section of critics and viewers have slammed Animal, calling it misogynistic and graphically violent. (PTI)
Sunny Deol puts an end to rumours, says viral ‘drunk’ video part of shoot
After a video in which Sunny Deol appeared to be roaming drunk on the streets at night went viral on social media, the actor on Wednesday put rumours to rest by saying that it was from the shoot of his upcoming movie Safar. A section of microblogging site X users had slammed the actor, also a BJP MP, for the alleged misbehaviour in public. Later in the day, Deol, 66, shared the video in question, shot from a different angle and in which a set of cameras can be seen in the frame. “Afwaahon ka ‘Safar’ bas yahin tak (The ‘Safar (journey)’ of rumours ends here) #Shooting #BTS,” Deol captioned the 17-second clip on X. Vishal Rana of Echelon Productions, the banner behind “Safar”, also cleared the air around the viral video. (PTI)

As his recently released theatrical film Animal continues to set the box-office on fire, actor Anil Kapoor has now unveiled the look of his character from his upcoming action film Fighter, in which he shares the screen with Bollywood superstars Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. In the film, Anil portrays the role of Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh. While sharing the look on his social media, Anil Kapoor wrote in the caption, “Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh. Call Sign: Rocky. Designation: Commanding Officer. Unit: Air Dragons. Fighter Forever”. Fighter, continues to stir excitement as the veil is lifted on Anil Kapoor’s character known by his call sign Rocky. Susan Sarandon fired from movie for supporting Palestine
Actress Susan Sarandon has been asked to leave the thriller film Slipping Away amid her anti-Semitism controversy. Slipping Away is about a schizophrenic man who “struggles with his own psychosis and his wife’s extramarital affair.” In the wake of the October 7 massacre by Hamas, Sarandon has been under fire for her latest outburst for saying Jews are “getting a taste of how it feels to be Muslim in America.” David Barroso, co-founder of the indie movie production company PTO Films, told Page Six: “As a company, PTO Films would like to make it clear that Susan Sarandon’s views do not reflect the opinions of our organisation. We were considering her for a short film, but due to her recent statements, we have decided to pursue other options.” The actress had been set to play Dr Sylvia Mansfield in Slipping Away, with the film appearing in her “upcoming” projects list on IMDB under the “pre-production” list, reports aceshowbiz.com.
