Adani Group unveils Rs 2 lakh crore investment in green energy in Gujarat

Shillong, January 10: At the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024, the Adani Group, led by chairperson Gautam Adani, disclosed its ambitious plan to invest Rs 2 lakh crore in the green energy and renewable sectors within Gujarat over the next five years.

Gautam Adani positioned the Adani Group as a pivotal player in India’s pursuit of a cleaner and more sustainable energy future during his address at the summit, India Today reported.

“We are expanding the green supply chain for an Aatmanirbhar Bharat and creating the largest integrated, renewable energy ecosystem… Over the next five years, the Adani Group will invest over Rs 2 lakh crores in Gujarat,” stated Gautam Adani, outlining the significant investment strategy.

This multi-billion-dollar investment is poised to drive innovations, generate employment opportunities, and make substantial contributions to the growth of the renewable energy sector in Gujarat. Gautam Adani indicated that the investment is anticipated to create up to 1 lakh jobs, both directly and indirectly.

In addition to detailing the conglomerate’s investment plan for Gujarat, Adani emphasized the remarkable economic growth achieved by India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He highlighted the nation’s robust GDP growth and per capita income since 2014, expressing optimism that the “best is yet to come.” Adani asserted that the current India is positioned to shape the global future, underscoring the Vibrant Gujarat Summit as a manifestation of PM Modi’s extraordinary vision that has spurred a nationwide movement towards remodeling India’s industrial landscape.
