SHILLONG, Dec 12: Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh’s official vehicle was attacked by unidentified miscreants following the Bryan Adams concert at JN Stadium, Polo, around 10:35 pm on Tuesday.
Reportedly, the Health minister was not in the vehicle when a stone was thrown, shattering the glass of the front door near Green Hills Restaurant in Polo.
Incidentally, Lyngdoh typically sits in the front passenger seat, which was damaged in the attack. At the time of the incident, the Minister was in another car traveling behind the targeted vehicle. Those inside the vehicle during the attack included Lyngdoh’s husband, Fantin J Lakadong — an Executive Member (EM) of the KHADC — the driver, and other relatives. Fortunately, no one was injured.
The Health minister has lodged an FIR with the Laitumkhrah police station regarding the incident.
